Leeds United fans have been reacting to news that has emerged ahead of their game against Everton this Saturday.
It was announced that Darren England will take charge of the game at Elland Road, with Eddie Smart and Dan Robathan running the touchline, Andre Marriner serving as fourth official and Kevin Friend on VAR duty.
The news was relayed to Leeds fans on social media by both journalist Adam Pope and @El_Loco_Jo for fans to react to, and it’s fair to say that they were not happy with the news, with many of them making reference to their game against Millwall back in January 2020.
It was a game they won, but clearly not England’s best performance in the eyes of the Leeds fans or the board as “home fans vented their frustration towards referee Darren England at the break after they felt some decisions went against them”:
“Not seen Darren England at a #lufc game since the 3 – 2 Millwall thriller at ER in the Championship in January 2020.”
Do you think this will be Bielsa's last year at Leeds?
Yes
No
You would imagine that another bad refereeing performance in exchange for a win would probably be something the Leeds fans would take in order to bounce back from their opening-day defeat against Manchester United.
