Leeds United supporters have taken to social media to express their feelings regarding the price tag set for a player the club have been linked with this summer.

Indeed, The Athletic has reported that Ryan Kent currently has a buyout clause of £20m in his contract. The article details how Leeds were interested in signing the player when he was still at Liverpool and that Marcelo Bielsa is a personal fan – though their closest bid to date has only been as high as £12m.

Leedsunited_news shared this information with its followers and it didn’t take long before the club’s faithful offered their input.

What did these Leeds fans have to say?

“20m for him??? Helder Costa is twice the player he is…”

“He’s not remotely worth that. He got found out against Malmo.”
“Leave it there ‘avin a laff.”
“Even 10mill is too much. Overrated.”
“Please please please say this means we’re not getting him. So overpriced.”
“Not worth 20 million – too inconsistent.”
“Didn’t we try to loan him from Liverpool but he chose to go Rangers on loan instead? Let him stay there, he’s made his bed now lie in it! #LUFC”

Kent was, of course, part of the Rangers side that won the Scottish Premier League last season, ending Celtic’s nine-year winning streak.

Having featured 37 times in that campaign – scoring 10 goals and creating a further 11 – it’s understandable if the club are unwilling to let him go for anything over than his full value.

Though judging from these Leeds fans’ reactions, that price is too much to pay for the 24-year-old.
