A lot of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to voice their frustration at the club’s latest announcement ahead of their game against Everton on the weekend.

The Yorkshire club welcome a full-capacity crowd back to Elland Road on the weekend as they host their first home game of the season against the Toffees.

Would you be in favour of Elland Road going cashless?

Ahead of the clash, the Whites have encouraged fans to pay in the concourses using debit/credit cards or digital methods as they aim to move towards a fully cashless stadium.

Fans will still be able to pay with cash at selected stalls, however, these Leeds fans were left far from pleased at the announcement to emerge from the club ahead of their return.

What exactly did these Leeds fans have to say?

“This is an absolute disgrace – you do realise not everyone uses or even has a card, why limit options for paying customers (more importantly fans), to save money perhaps? Very disappointed in you”

“Boooooooooooooo boooooooooo”
“I don’t want to have to pay by card thank you”
“This will end up in tears.”
“Pathetic. Lose out on thousands every game.”

Tottenham Hotspur was the first club in the UK to introduce cashless operating in their stadium when they returned to their north London home back in 2019.

However, it seems some of these Leeds fans are not too keen on the idea of transitioning to a stadium that would no longer accept cash transactions ahead of their return on Saturday.
