Lots of Leeds United have flocked to Twitter to voice their thoughts at a tweet from Phil Hay relating to a reported transfer target for the Yorkshire side.

Reports have suggested Hertha Berlin’s Matheus Cunha has received a lot of interest this summer with one team believed to be interested being Leeds United.

Do you want Leeds to sign Cunha this summer?

However, The Athletic’s Leeds correspondent has taken to Twitter to reveal the club have denied any links to the Brazilian forward all summer.

It has recently been suggested it would take just €25m (£21.5m) to prise the forward away from the capital despite there still being four years remaining on his Hertha contract.

What exactly did these Leeds have to say?

The pain is real Cheers Phil”

“Cheers Phil, son’s crying”
“Another one bites the dust chief”
“Cunha is such a baller !”
“Whatever happened to us having our signings before the start of pre-season? We been knocked back that many times Phil??”
“Could be a long season”
“Let’s just accept we aren’t signing anyone.”

The 22-year-old has just secured himself an Olympic gold medal in Japan after beat in the final in which he netted the opening goal, taking his competition tally up to three goals (via Transfermarkt).

So far, Leeds have spent £26.82m this summer across their three signings and it seems these have been left disappointed by Hay’s claim that Cunha will not be joining the Whites.
