Lots of Leeds United fans have reacted on Twitter to a post from Graham Smyth providing an update on the Yorkshire side’s transfer plans.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, talks between Celtic and Leeds have progressed as the Whites close in on the potential signing of Leo Hjelde.
Would Leo Hjelde be a good signing?
The centre-back joined the Hoops back in 2019 from the Rosenborg BK development setup and has spent time out on loan at Ross County (via Transfermarkt).
Leeds fans flocked to the tweet from Smyth to share their thoughts on the claim suggesting a deal for the youngster is edging closer to completion.
What exactly did these Leeds fans have to say?
“Snap him up. Shouldn’t cost too much either from Celtic. #LUFC“
“Would really like us to get Hjelde. That bit of experience in senior football and what I have read (admittedly not seen much) should make this a good deal. #lufc #MOT“
“Bit of a baller Graham isn’t he?”
“Good. I think Charlie needs a better partner than Nohan. He’s looked one of the weaker links in that team so far in pre-season, albeit slightly out of position”
“Good signing, but not exactly what we need is it?”
“Good, coz we are a CB short in the U23 team :)”
A report from Football Insider has suggested the Hjelde is set to undergo a medical with the Yorkshire club ahead of a proposed move with a fee believed to have been agreed.
The Celtic ace has been dubbed as ‘the next Virgil van Dijk’ and it seems these Leeds fans are delighted at the potential arrival of the 17-year-old.
