Former All Leeds TV pundit Joe Wainman believes that Crysencio Summerville could have a breakthrough season at Leeds United.

The 19-year-old moved to the club from Feyenoord in September of 2020.

The Netherlands U19 international has also gone on loan to both FC Dordrecht and ADO Den Haag during his time in the Eredivisie.

A right winger, Summerville initially linked up with Leeds’ U23s and has made 14 appearances, scoring six goals and providing seven assists.

Wainman has been impressed with his performances in pre-season and believes that he could be given the chance to provide back-up to Raphinha this season.

Indeed, he insists that he is a better player than both Ian Poveda and Helder Costa, and thinks he could be given a real opportunity to impress by Marcelo Bielsa this term.

He said: “There’s a new winger, he’s not new, but a winger by the name of Crysencio Summerville, and he’s had a brilliant pre-season and I would personally put him ahead of Poveda and Costa currently.

“Whether Bielsa does, we’ll have to wait and see.

“But I think he is one to watch out for especially now that the Premier League have given nine substitutes, we might see Summerville put on the bench and if there’s a chance he throws him in, then he’s one that really excites me.”
