Leeds United’s pre-season preparations continue to falter, with a number of the club’s supporters being left irritated by Liam Cooper’s recent performance.

Cooper lined up for his first pre-season appearance, and he didn’t make the ideal start, with the Scottish international slipping in the build-up to Ajax’s opener after 13 minutes.

The defender’s slip allowed Max de Waal to fire home Ajax’s first goal on the day, which left Leeds with a tough task to work their way back into the game.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side finished ninth in the Premier League last term, and they’ll be hoping they can continue to build on a number strong showings heading into the 2021/22 season.

The Yorkshire-based side were beaten by Spanish side Real Betis in their most recent friendly, and would have been hoping to pick up a win from their clash with Ajax.

Cooper, who is valued at £6.3 million (as per Transfermarkt), was involved in the first match between the two teams, with another clash taking place on Wednesday evening, as other members of the Leeds squad look to find much-needed minutes ahead of the upcoming campaign.

These Leeds United fans took to social media to voice their frustrations at Cooper’s role in Ajax’s opening goal of the game on Wednesday afternoon.
