Lots of Fulham fans have flocked to a tweet from the London club sharing news of the latest player to depart from Craven Cottage.

On Friday morning, it was confirmed Maxime Le Marchand had completed a permanent move away from the Cottagers to join RC Strasbourg.

The 31-year-old joined Fulham back in 2018 from OGC Nice for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £3.6m, but only made 48 appearances during his three years at the club (via Transfermarkt).

Despite spending the back-end of last season out on loan at Royal Antwerp, these Fulham fans were left gutted by the announcement of his departure.

What exactly did these Fulham fans have to say?

Today is a sad day what a chant this man had”

“Good luck MLM, absolute GOAT status at Fulham for the chant alone”
“MAXIME NOOOOOOOO”
“Devastated”

Le Marchand made 26 appearances during Fulham’s brief spell back in the 2018/19 Premier League campaign, however, he only made two appearances last season in the English top-flight (via Transfermarkt).

Despite spirits being high after their impressive start to the new campaign, it is clear to see these Fulham fans have been left gutted by the Frenchman’s departure.
