Paul Stewart hopes Tottenham Hotspur will beat a host of rivals to the signing of Yves Bissouma.

Bissouma has been one of the Premier League’s most consistently performing midfielders since joining Brighton & Hove Albion from French side Lille three years ago.

The Mali international scored two goals in 39 appearances for the Seagulls last season and is being courted by a number of clubs.

Arsenal have been interested in the 24-year-old since January, while Liverpool are also keeping tabs on him.

Premier League champions Manchester City – along with West Ham United and Everton – are keen on Bissouma as well, with there being the possibility of a bidding war taking place before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.

Bissouma has entered the final two years of his Brighton contract, which is worth £25,000-per-week.

While Bissouma is highly sought-after, Stewart believes he would fit in perfectly at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
