Marcus Bent has claimed that Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah could join Crystal Palace and become first-choice striker ahead of Christian Benteke.
The Belgian, who reached double figures for the first time in four years after an end-of-season hot streak, recently extended his stay at Selhurst Park into a sixth campaign.
Would Tammy Abraham be interested in a move to Crystal Palace?
However, whilst Eagles boss Patrick Vieira also has Jordan Ayew at his disposal, Palace are likely to need a third number striker to bolster their frontline this window.
With Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang both comfortably ahead of the 22-year-old in the Arsenal pecking order, Nketiah may have to look elsewhere for regular minutes having made just four Premier League starts last season.
Palace tend to play with just one striker, but Bent was asked whether Nketiah could potentially partner Benteke upfront.
He exclusively told This is Futbol:
“To bring someone in to play alongside him, I don’t think that would work.
“To play in the Premier League, it’s exciting, you get confidence from that, he’s a talented player, so maybe he could go in there and take over Benteke.”
