Graham Roberts reckons that Euro 2020-star Mikkel Damsgaard would be an upgrade on Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn.

Nuno Espirito Santo has already added young Sevilla winger Bryan Gil to his squad, with Erik Lamela heading the other way, whilst Gareth Bale didn’t return for a third spell meaning Spurs might need another in the wide area.

Do you think Bryan Gil will be a regular starter for Tottenham?

And the Tottenham boss isn’t finished in the window just yet, with the Evening Standard reporting that Santo is targeting a move for 21-year-old Damsgaard.

The Sampdoria attacker caught the eye at the Euro’s following an excellent performance against Wales in Denmark’s first knockout tie before opening the scoring with a sensational free-kick in the semi-final defeat to England at Wembley.

Starting with a current Tottenham star. How many PL goals has Harry Kane scored for Spurs?

Damsgaard is valued around £50m, which would be feasible should Spurs end up cashing-in on Harry Kane this month.

Asked whether the Dane would be an upgrade on Lucas and Bergwijn, two players that are in line to start against Man City on Sunday week, Roberts exclusively told This is Futbol:

“Yeah, I think he would. They were talking about him a couple of years ago that he was going to be the new superstar.

“He was brilliant against Wales, so you would take that, but he would cost a lot of money.”
