Connor Williams has been discussing links suggesting Everton are interested in Jeremie Boga on The Toffee Blues’ YouTube channel.

New Everton manager Rafael Benitez has already brought in two new wingers this summer in the form of Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray, with the latter getting off to a brilliant start in his Everton career after two goals in the opening three Premier League matches.

However, reports in Foot Mercato are suggesting that the Spaniard is looking to add further firepower out wide in the final hours of the transfer window with Sassuolo’s Boga, who managed to score four times and register two assists last season in Serie A.

Williams gave his thoughts on links surrounding Boga.

“We also have the news now that Everton have reportedly enquired about signing Sassuolo’s midfielder, Jeremie Boga. The 24-year-old is approaching his final year of his contract and Everton are among the interested teams.

“Boga, formerly of Chelsea, is also wanted by Crystal Palace and Serie A sides Napoli and Atalanta.

“Foot Mercato claimed that the interested sides could take action before the transfer deadline, and have predicted a hectic few days ahead. He’s a really good player, really fast, really powerful.

“I believe he’s a right-winger, so somewhere where we could argue we could need it. [He’s] not a right-back, which I’d argue we need just as much, if not more, but he’s a right-winger and he looks a very exciting talent.”

TIF Thoughts on Everton being linked with Boga…

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been in great form this season so far and Benitez appears to have a clear desire of getting more quality on the wings, with their two outfield signings at present being wide players, so adding another in Boga could prove to be a shrewd piece of business.

To kick off this quiz on Everton transfers, which player was the Toffees' club-record transfer fee paid on according to Transfermarkt?

However, given Everton’s troubles in the transfer window thus far in terms of spending money, this deal doesn’t appear too likely, unless the Toffees are able to shift on some fringe players such as Moise Kean, who has re-joined Juventus on a long-term loan.

But with plenty of time left on the final day of the transfer window at the time of writing, perhaps Benitez does have some late tricks up his sleeve.
