Everton journalist Adam Jones has been sharing his thoughts on the possibility of Toffees attacker Richarlison potentially being sold this summer.
This comes after Jones made an appearance on a recent video from the Mirror Football YouTube channel where he spoke about the latest news stories concerning the Merseyside club.
After it was recently reported that French club Paris Saint-Germain could look to sign Richarlison this summer if Kylian Mbappe were to leave the club, Jones had this to say on the matter.
He said: “I think there’s sort of an understanding among the fanbase that Richarlison’s not going to be at Everton forever, especially with the way that Everton have gone over the last couple of seasons – it’s been two steps forward, two steps back over the last couple of seasons for Everton, and Richarlison is just one of those mercurial talents where he is going to be a fantastic star of the future.
“I would say it’s probably been a struggle for Everton to keep him this summer.
“It doesn’t make sense for Everton to let him go in the last stages of this window, to be honest, even if they were to get their valuation of him.”
TIF Thoughts on Adam Jones’ comments on Richarlison and his future at the club…
Since joining Everton back in the 2018 summer transfer window from fellow Premier League side Watford for a fee of £35.28 million, Richarlison has made 121 appearances for the Merseyside club across all competitions in which he has managed to score 43 goals and provide 10 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).
Do you think there is any chance Everton would sell Richarlison this summer?
With a potential bid from PSG on its way, you can see why Everton accepting a bid for the Brazilian with a few days of the window remaining is not a great situation in Jones’ eyes.
In our view, whether Mbappe leaves Paris or not, Everton should not entertain any offer they may or may not receive for Richarlison this summer as he is undoubtedly one of the best attacking options they have in their squad.
