Crystal Palace journalist Matt Woosnam believes that midfielder Luka Milivojevic has proved his leadership during his time at the club, amid the appointment of new manager Patrick Vieira.

The Eagles are undergoing a major restructuring of their squad after appointing the Frenchman as their new boss.

The club have been active throughout the summer transfer window, bringing in a number of new acquisitions.

Will Patrick Vieira still be Crystal Palace's manager at the end of the season?

Marc Guehi has been recruited from Chelsea, while Joachim Andersen has come in from Lyon after last season’s loan spell at Fulham, and Michael Olise has arrived from Reading.

Milivojevic, though, remains a constant presence in central midfield for Palace and is the current club captain.

And Woosnam thinks he has more than proven his ability to lead the team, and doubts that anything will change in regard to his status at Selhurst Park.

He said: “I think it’s more about tactical and positional awareness and things like that, and I suppose there is an element of leadership and how can you be a better leader?

“But I don’t think there’s any concerns about his leadership ability otherwise he wouldn’t have been the captain to now.”

In total, Milivojevic has made 157 appearances for Palace, scoring 28 goals and registering six assists.
