Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge believes that Turkish defender Ozan Kabak remains an option for Crystal Palace.

According to the Guardian, Kabak’s parent club Schalke are looking to sell the 21-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan following his January arrival, with Palace one of several clubs interested.

The 6 ft 1 defender impressed for the Reds, making 13 appearances in Europe and the Premier League, and started both Champions League ties against Real Madrid.

Patrick Vieira has already added Chelsea centre-back and Joachim Andersen from Lyon to his defensive line.

However, the Frenchman has already lost Scott Dann and Mamadou Sakho, whilst Gary Cahill rejected a new contract at Selhurst Park, which means there’s no guarantee he’ll be a Palace player next season.

With that in mind, Bridge told This is Futbol that Kabak, who would cost the Eagles around £12m, remains a possibility as a third centre-back addition as Vieira looks to continue his defensive revamp at Selhurst Park:

“A player they know they can get is Schalke defender Ozan Kabak, who was on loan at Liverpool last year. I wasn’t told totally that he’s gone away.

“I think that he’s one they could go for if they don’t get others. I could be wrong, but I know he’s on their list. They’re looking to get one more, especially if [Gary] Cahill doesn’t re-sign.”
