Former All Leeds TV presenter Joe Wainman has tipped Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira to be the first managerial sacking of the Premier League season.
Vieira was appointed as the Eagles’ new manager last month, following former England international chief Roy Hodgson’s decision to step down at the end of last term.
However, the Arsenal legend was only named as Hodgson’s successor after Palace had failed to lure now-Tottenham Hotspur head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and former Borussia Dortmund boss Lucien Favre to Selhurst Park.
Will Patrick Vieira be the season's first managerial sacking?
Yes
No
Vieira has moved quickly to bolster his squad ahead of the transfer window closing at the end of the month, with exciting youngsters Marc Guehi and Michael Olise among the arrivals.
Central midfielder Conor Gallagher has also headed to Palace on a season-long loan from Chelsea, having impressed during a temporary spell with West Bromwich Albion last season.
Gallagher opted to join the Eagles despite interest from Premier League rivals Leeds United.
Wainman believes Gallagher should have headed to Elland Road instead of Selhurst Park because his new manager will be heading for the exit door sooner rather than later.
He told TIF: “I get him wanting to work under Patrick Vieira but I have been making a bold prediction.
“I’ve been saying that Patrick Vieira will be the first manager sacked.
“I think it will be the wrong move for Conor Gallagher and he should have come to Leeds United, where his career would have soared.”
