Dean Windass has urged new Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira to bolster his attacking options by signing Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.
Former Arsenal captain Vieira was appointed as Roy Hodgson’s successor last month, following a lengthy managerial search.
Vieira has already shown he is looking to assemble a youthful squad by signing 21-year-old Chelsea defender Marc Guehi for £18million and welcoming exciting 19-year-old Michael Olise in an £8million deal from Championship outfit Reading.
Would Tammy Abraham be interested in a move to Crystal Palace?
Yes
No
Remi Matthews and Jacob Montes have also arrived at Selhurst Park, from Sunderland and New England Revolution respectively, and Windass believes Abraham should be on Vieira’s radar.
Abraham has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea following Thomas Tuchel’s appointment as head coach.
The England international striker has made just seven appearances since Tuchel’s first match in charge, which came against Wolverhampton Wanderers in January, and Windass believes a move to Palace could result in the 23-year-old rediscovering his best form.
Speaking exclusively to TIF, Windass said: “Tammy Abraham would be a great fit. He would bring energy and youth.”
