Journalist Dean Jones has explained what Arsenal expect to achieve in the transfer market before it shuts at the end of this month.

Arsenal have made several additions to the squad this summer, with Ben White arriving from Brighton & Hove Albion for £50m as the club’s most high-profile business of the off-season.

But it looks as though all transfer dealings for the Gunners aren’t quite finished just yet.

While talking on The Football Terrace’s The Done Deal Show, Jones stated that the club from north London hope to complete a few more signings in the coming weeks.

Jones explained: “They have to sign a midfielder and I think they have to sign a forward. I now have doubts about whether they do that. I’m told they’ll make at least two signings before the transfer window closes, hopefully three.

“We’ll see what positions they come into – one of those might even end up being a right-back, who knows?”

TIF Thoughts on Arsenal and their transfer targets…

Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Martin Odegaard as well as James Maddison from Leicester City. The club may well be expecting one of those deals to come good.

They are also reported to be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper, with Aaron Ramsdale the name most commonly linked with the club. However, it looks like that deal may not happen due to the high fee wanted from Sheffield United for the player.

Meanwhile, Hector Bellerin may be on the way out. If his sale did occur, it could open the door for a new right-back – which Jones does suggest could be a possibility.

Therefore, you can see how there can still be plenty of movement for the Gunners in the transfer market before the window shuts.
