It has been reported by Tom Ross that Ismael is not expecting to bring in any more new signings this summer, which will leave the Baggies with four new recruits.

West Brom have managed to secure one loan signing, Matt Clarke, as well as the arrivals of Adam Reach, Quevin Castro and Alex Mowatt – but more importantly, it appears likely that Sam Johnstone could yet remain at the club for the upcoming season.

A lot of West Brom fans have been left feeling angry on Twitter over Ismael’s comments.

What have these West Brom fans had to say?

“Poor if true and really do look short if a couple of attacking first team quality. Don’t see how we can rely upon Grady and Grant after how woeful they were last season. Big gamble!”

@Stevotop

Happy with that squad dear god need at least 3/4 more”

@JakeWBA97

“I think he’s slipped into the Albion way of thinking quickly…knows we need more but is already prepared to be disappointed on deadline day!”

“What an absolute joke”

@JamieTheo2

To kick off this quiz on West Bromwich Albion's 2019/20 season, how many points did the Baggies end the 2019/20 Championship campaign with?

Despite only bringing a handful of new players this summer, as it stands, the Baggies have managed to keep four of their top five performing players from last season to have played more than one game, based on WhoScored’s ratings – although Matheus Pereira is thought to be close to departing.

West Brom will be targeting promotion at the first time of asking following their relegation into the Championship last season, as that may well be their best way of tempting Johnstone to sign a new contract at The Hawthorns.
