West Brom signing Orlando City striker Daryl Dike this summer will be a tricky deal to do, journalist Luke Hatfield has told This Is Futbol.

Dike played under new West Brom boss Valerien Ismael at Barnsley last season and has since been linked with a move to The Hawthorns, with Hatfield’s paper the Express & Star reporting that he is a target for the club.

The 21-year-old impressed during his loan spell at Oakwell, scoring nine goals in 19 regular Championship appearances for Ismael as Barnsley went on to reach the play-offs.

It makes it no surprise that Ismael is eyeing up a reunion, though Hatfield has his doubts over whether West Brom will be able to get a deal done.

“He played under Ismael at Barnsley before, but he’s in the MLS at the moment,” Hatfield said. “That one might be slightly tricky to do. I think they want a lot of money for him over there in the States, even for a loan fee, so that one might be tough to do.”

Whatever the case, West Brom desperately need a new striker or attacker, especially after losing their top scorer from last season Matheus Pereira.

The likes of Callum Robinson and Karlan Grant, unlike Pereira, struggled for goals in the previous campaign, though things may start to pick up again now they are in the Championship.
