Sheffield United fans have been reacting to comments made by Rhian Brewster following their victory over Carlisle United in the Carabao Cup.

The Blades ran out 1-0 winners in the game at Bramall Lane as they bounced back from their defeat on the opening day of the season against Birmingham City, with the aforementioned Brewster getting the winner.

To say that Brewster’s first season at Sheffield United was underwhelming would be putting it lightly. Having been signed from Liverpool in a deal worth £23.5m, he failed to score a single goal throughout the entire campaign as the Blades finished bottom of the division.

Who scored the opening goal in Liverpool's 4-3 win over Leeds United at Anfield in September?

But he finally managed to get off the mark last night, tapping in a rebounded Billy Sharp effort to see Slavisa Jokanovic’s men through to the next round.

After the game, he took to social media to express his relief at breaking his duck, where there were plenty of Blades fans that were more than happy to join in the celebrations:

“Super chuffed for ya fella!!!!! UTB!!!!”

“So excited of what is to come from you now, Rhian. The goalfest has begun. Roll on Saturday in Wales.”
“Knew it was coming Rhian and buzzing for you and bet it felt amazing!! First of many mate”
“Wait until you do it in front of a packed kop, you won’t find a club that will make you feel more valued than the blades”
“First of many, never stopped working tonight”
“Goal well deserved buddy”
