Sheffield United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news to emerge concerning Blades goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

This comes after Sheffield United-focused Twitter account @The_Bladesman shared a post on their page relaying news originally tweeted by journalist Alan Nixon.

Nixon claimed that Ramsdale is “very keen” to get his reported potential move to Premier League club Arsenal finalised and is “pushing hard” to get away from Sheffield United.

Nixon then added that the two clubs “can’t sort a fee” for the deal to take place.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from a number of Blades fans, who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest claim.

So, what did these Sheffield United fans have to say in response to this latest news about Ramsdale and a potential move to Arsenal?

“Get him gone then imo”

@Elzbye

“If he wants to go then let him”

@JoeJackson93

“Get him gone then, bored of this now. If he wants to go and warm the bench elsewhere at this point in his career then so be it.”

@Cain_Ashmore

“Bye”

@wouiewrossleyb2

“Off you go then”

@kpl1889

“If he wants to go let him be a benchwarmer …we’ll get someone who wants to be our num 1”

@1889bladette

Looking at the replies to this post, it seems as though this group of Sheffield United fans would be open to seeing Ramsdale leave the club if he doesn’t want to stay at Bramall Lane.

Do you think Sheffield United should sell Ramsdale?

Yes

Yes

No

No

In our view, the best thing for the Yorkshire club to do know would be to try and work out a deal with Arsenal that would see the club receive a suitable transfer fee for the shot-stopper and grant Ramsdale what he wants rather than have him stay at the club where he reportedly doesn’t want to be.

Given how the Blades currently have the likes of Michael Verrips, Wes Foderingham and Jake Eastwood in their squad as well as Ramsdale, this suggests to us that they may not necessarily need to bring in a new goalkeeper to replace Ramsdale even if he were to leave this summer, and could instead potentially use his transfer fee to strengthen their squad in other areas if they do manage to work out a deal with Arsenal.
