A number of Sheffield United fans have flocked to Twitter after Fabrizio Romano revealed Robin Olsen is close to joining their team on loan.

The transfer guru announced online that the AS Roma goalkeeper will sign on a one-year loan as a replacement for Aaron Ramsdale.

Ramsdale was recently sold to Arsenal for a fee that could rise to as much as £30m, leaving United short of an option between the sticks.

Hearing that their club looks finally set to fill the void in goal, Blades fans soon expressed their delight on Twitter in great numbers.

Here’s what these Sheffield United fans said…

“Here we go!!!!!”

“Love that.”
“YESSSSS FAB THANK YOU FOR REPORTING ON US.”
“HE KNOWS WE EXIST.”
“Things you love to see.”
“Gior hahaha my club’s making moves on deadline day I could roar.”

These fans certainly seem to be delighted with the potential new signing. Olsen would also come with some experience of English football.

Last season, the Swedish goalkeeper was loaned out to Everton, where he made 11 appearances for the Premier League club.

United fans will likely hope that time spent in the country already will help the 31-year-old settle in fast as their club aims to achieve promotion back into England’s top division.
