Wigan Athletic supporters have been responding to the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding the Latics.
This follows journalist Alan Nixon’s tweet, which suggested that Wigan have expressed an interest in former Sunderland striker Charlie Wyke, who has been out of contract since the end of last season.
Wigan fans responded to the tweet, which also claimed that they may offer the ‘best terms‘ for the striker, who has been heavily linked with Celtic.
Judging by the reaction from Wigan fans, the majority of them would be left buzzing if the club were to sign Wyke.
Wyke finished as Sunderland’s top goalscorer last season, scoring 30 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions for the Black Cats, including 26 goals in 45 appearances in League One.
Only promoted Peterborough United striker Jonson Clarke-Harris managed more goals than the 28-year-old.
As well as reported interest from Celtic in Scotland, Wyke reportedly had interest from Championship clubs, but after Nixon suggested Wigan may offer the ‘best terms’ for Wyke, it may be the Latics that manage to land the centre-forward.
