Lots of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the latest comments to emerge in regard to their proposed takeover bid.

The Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Oliver Dowden, responded to questions from the public with one of the questions regarding the proposed Saudi-based PIF takeover bid.

The proposed takeover of the Tyneside club hit the rocks last year and any progression on it potentially going ahead seems to rest on the arbitration case held between the club and the Premier League.

Discussing the proposed takeover, Dowden had the following to say.

“In relation to this specific case, of course, that’s for the Premier League to go through their processes. I want them to do that as quickly as possible – and in the most transparent way as possible. That’s the right way to address it.”

Newcastle fans flocked to the tweet from the Secretary of State to share their thoughts on his response to the upcoming arbitration case.

What exactly did these Newcastle fans have to say?

The face of the proposed Saudi bid, Amanda Stavely, wrote directly to Dowden last week and called for the arbitration case to be heard publicly.

Going by the reaction of these Newcastle fans, it seems apparent they are not expecting too much in the way of ‘transparency’ in the arbitration trial with some feeling the takeover will not happen.
