Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has featured on Chris Cowlin’s latest YouTube video to discuss potential incomings and departures at Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The Ivorian right-back, Serge Aurier, has been heavily linked with a possible departure from Spurs this summer with the defender previously linked with Paris Saint-Germain.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side has recently sealed the signing of former Inter Milan right-back Achraf Hakimi which could suggest a return to Paris is now firmly off the table for Aurier.

The 28-year-old only made 19 appearances for Spurs in the Premier League throughout the entirety of the 2020/21 campaign but he was able to net twice and provide three assists (via Transfermarkt).

Discussing the Ivorian’s future with the north Londoners, Romano had the following to say on the matter.

“Many clubs are looking for a right-back now in the market so it could be one of the opportunities in the market for Tottenham to sell some players.

“At the moment there’s nothing advanced but keep an eye on French/Italian, these kinds of markets, for Aurier – not only England because he could be one of the players to leave the club and they want to sign a new right-back.

“And remember that also [Takehiro] Tomiyasu could play as right-back. So it could be an opportunity.”

TIF Thoughts on Aurier’s Spurs future…

Tottenham’s search for a new permanent manager came to an end last week with the announcement of Nuno Espirito Santo as the new head coach.

The former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager was able to get the best out of right-wing-back Matt Doherty during the pairs time at Molineux which could suggest the Irishman stands a good chance of being Espirito Santo’s first choice.

However, it is also suggested Spurs are in the market for another right-back which could mean the club are paving the way for Aurier’s departure in this window.
