Sunderland fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest transfer claim to emerge concerning the Black Cats.
This comes after Football League World shared a post claiming that Sunderland are “ready to make a move” for Scotland international Stephen O’Donnell this summer.
This post then quickly caught the attention of a lot of Sunderland supporters, who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest claim.
So, what did these Sunderland fans have to say in response to this latest transfer claim about O’Donnell?
“The same guy who pocketed Grealish #SAFC“
“Would be class #SAFC But does this mean we no longer want Josh Key?”
“Would be happy with that if this come through #SAFC“
“Decent”
“Oh”
“Should I be happy about this?”
Looking at the replies to this post, it seems as though the majority of these Sunderland fans would be happy to see O’Donnell join their club this summer.
Do you think Sunderland should sign O'Donnell?
Yes
No
Given how the 29-year-old Motherwell captain made a total of 41 appearances for the Scottish club last season, this suggests to us that they may not be particularly eager to allow the defender to leave this summer.
However, with Sunderland currently only having Luke O’Nien in their squad that plays in the right-back position, perhaps they should do all they can to sign O’Donnell this summer to strengthen that position ahead of the 2021/22 season.
