Celtic fans have been reacting to comments made by new head coach Ange Postecoglou following their game with FC Midtjylland in the Champions League qualifiers.

The Australian’s first competitive game in charge of the Hoops ended in a 1-1 draw with the Danish side, with debutant Liel Abada getting on the scoresheet before Evander equalised in the second half to leave the second leg in Denmark finely poised.

Celtic haven’t had the best of records in Europe recently, having last been in the Champions League group stage in 2017/18, so hopefully new man Postecoglou will be the man to help take them forward as a club.

Celtic fans, can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players? First up: who is this?

However, when his post-match comments were relayed to the fans by the club’s Twitter account, the focus didn’t seem to be on what he could do, as some focused on what the board could do in trying to make the club competitive once again.

“Back this man PLEASE BACK THIS MAN”
“Get behind this manager- he’s been left to fix a shambles”
“With proper recruitment of players we’d have skooshed this round.. board to blame”
“Ange is the man Celtic, forget about hotels and bonuses, give the guy the players he needs to make us the team and club we should be”
“I like this man for the job. I didn’t judge him before he even turned up unlike other fans. I wanted to wait and see what he could do and so far I am impressed. Looking forward to the league now. It was great to see some exciting, attacking football. He needs backing though..”
“After last season honestly thought we would have been hammered, some of the football at times was… now the board have actually seen what he can do with the team he has got they better imagine what he can do with a decent transfer window.”

Will Celtic make it past Midtjylland?
