Celtic fans on Twitter have been responding to a recent video posted on social media of Hoops midfielder Callum McGregor.

This comes after the official Celtic Twitter account shared a post that contained the video of McGregor speaking to the club’s media after their latest pre-season match, which saw Ange Postecoglou’s side draw 0-0 against Bristol City.

Celtic fans, can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players? First up: who is this?

During the video, McGregor said that the first half of the game was “really positive” and that Celtic “controlled the game.”

This post then quickly grabbed the attention of a lot of Hoops supporters, who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this video.

So, what did these Celtic fans have to say in response to this video of McGregor?

“100% Captain material.”

@20MinuteTims

“I think McGregor will be back to his best this season, looks sharp in the training videos and will thrive playing this way and not being shackled to defend. The confidence from his 2 excellent Scotland performances has set him up nicely. No doubt still a few haters though.”

@mmcveighbhoy7

“Even the interview seems more positive”

@brucebrockett1

“Well played, strolled 1st half, best player on display,”

@graememcv1974

“The difference in his answers here compared to when he was carted out under Lennon is remarkable. The level of detail he is alluding to compared to his “yeah, just wasn’t our day” rhetoric last year is small but very positive sign.”

@RPD1989

“My captain”

@wegdog42

“He was superb as always. Soro once again though impressing this pre-season! He I can tell is gonna be a unit in our midfield. He plays Brown’s position so well! Looking forward to more leading performances from our Captain Calmac.”

Looking at the replies to this post from the club’s official Twitter account, it seems as though there is quite a lot of positivity around the team at the moment, especially with McGregor, who some of these fans think is a good candidate to be the club captain now that Scott Brown has departed.

In our view, even though Celtic didn’t manage to beat Bristol City in their latest pre-season game, it’s good to see McGregor and these fans thinking positively after the disappointing campaign they had in the SPFL last season.
