Pundit Barry Ferguson has recently talked about Ange Postecoglou and he hailed him to be a no-nonsense character.

Postecoglou saw his Celtic side lose 6-2 to West Ham in a friendly recently and following the game, he said that he isn’t at the club to keep people happy – and if some players aren’t happy, they can move on. He believes that representing Celtic should bring joy to the players and he isn’t an entertainer, as he is more focused on creating success.

Ferguson appeared on the latest episode of the Go Radio Football Show podcast and one topic of discussion was Postecoglou’s comments about outgoings.

Ferguson praised Postecoglou, saying that the Australian isn’t someone to mess about. He claimed: “It’s the right way to approach it. If somebody doesn’t want to be there, you move them on. There’s got to be clubs interested in their players, and I’m sure we all know who’re the players he’s talking about.

“I don’t think he’s going to mess about. If a player doesn’t want to be at Celtic, [they] won’t play under him and that’s just the way he comes across. I think he’s a very honest guy, I don’t think he’s going to be messed about.”

TIF Thoughts on Postecoglou…

Postecoglou’s comments certainly carry some weight as Kristoffer Ajer had made it clear that he wanted to leave the club this summer and the Norwegian was not included in the Hoops’ Champions League squad. Even in the club’s friendlies, Ajer hadn’t played a single game.

Celtic fans, can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players? First up: who is this?

It shows that the Australian’s words do carry some truth and he wants full commitment from the players if they want to play under him. So if players aren’t fully committed, they should perhaps leave the club soon or they may not last under Postecoglou.
