Michael Ball feels Alfredo Morelos is nearing the end of his Rangers career.

The Colombian headed to Glasgow from Finnish side HJK Helsinki in the summer of 2017.

Morelos has gone on to make 109 Scottish Premiership appearances since, finding the back of the net 54 times.

However, the 25-year-old had to wait until last season before finally getting his hands on the league title as Steven Gerrard ended arch-rivals Celtic’s hopes of winning a 10th consecutive crown.

Reports suggest a host of clubs are queuing up to acquire the striker’s services, with Porto seeing him as a possible cut-price option in the transfer market.

Rangers have hit back by claiming they are in no hurry to sell Morelos.

Ball, who was with Rangers between 2001 and 2005, feels the Colombia international will remain at Ibrox for at least another 12 months.

However, the former full-back is not expecting Morelos to still be in Scottish football two years down the line, meaning Gers boss Gerrard may need to start earmarking potential replacements.

Speaking exclusively to TIF, Ball said: “Alfredo is always rumoured with leaving the football club.

“He seems like he’s very ambitious and wants to go to that next level again but I think there’s a possibility that he will stay for one more year. I don’t think he will be at Rangers in two or three years’ time. I think he will move on.

“Rangers will cash in at some point.”
