Celtic fans have been reacting to news coming out of the club surrounding Callum McGregor.

Following the departure of Scott Brown earlier this year, the club has been looking for someone to take the armband moving forward, and they have found it in the form of the 28-year-old midfielder, who was announced as the new skipper.

McGregor has so far made 325 appearances for the club, having come through the ranks at Parkhead and has stood in as captain on occasion before most notably last season, and speaking upon the announcement, head coach Ange Postecoglou stated: “He knows what it takes to be a successful Celtic player, and he knows what it means to captain this club, and I’m delighted that he will be wearing the armband and leading the squad going forward.”
