A lot of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the latest injury news to emerge from the Parkhead side.
In Ange Postecoglou’s press conference on Monday, the 55-year-old
confirmed ‘significant’ injuries to both Mikey Johnston and Karamoko Dembele.
The pair both limped off from Celtic’s friendly game against Bristol City last week and will now undergo lengthy rehabilitation processes before returning to the squad.
Celtic fans flocked to a tweet from writer
@CraigCelt relaying the injury news, as many voiced their sympathy for the Parkhead duo who are set for a period of time in recovery.
What exactly did these Celtic fans have to say?
“Was this in the presser? Totally missed it. This is terrible news.”
“That’s a blow. Probably the 2 players in the squad I was curious to see kick on this year.”
“I whole-heartedly blame the legacy of Lennon’s regime for this. It was clear last season that the players were not training properly or managing their physical condition correctly. Just look at the difference in Ajeti already for example. This is a disaster…”
“Shame for Karamoko this was an important season for him let’s hope he has a speedy recovery. As for Mikey Johnston he shows flashes of talent now and again but the boy’s made of glass”
“Mikey Johnston is made of glass”
“Add 2 LW’ers to the rebuild list”
“MJ is surely finished at Celtic. His injury record is appalling and he has not progressed as expected, he is still built like a kid far too lightweight.”
This news comes ahead of Celtic’s Champions League qualifying tie against Danish outfit
FC Midtjylland, with PSV Eindhoven or Galatasaray awaiting the winner of the tie.
Going by the reaction of these Celtic fans, it is clear to get a sense of the disappointment surrounding the fanbase regarding the injury news with many wishing the duo a speedy recovery.
