His Daily Mail report states that Hibernian are holding out for a fee of ‘more than £4 million’ to let Nisbet go this summer and Celtic are now working to find out how much a potential deal could cost. Nisbet returns to pre-season training at the weekend and has plenty of suitors in England, including Swansea City, Brentford and Nottingham Forest – while Russian outfit FC Krasnodar are also interested in him.

Hibs are in no rush to sell the Scotsman and Nisbet’s former club Dunfermline have a sell-on clause in his contract.

McGowan’s tweet about Celtic’s interest in Nisbet drew the attention of many Bhoys fans, who made their opinions clear about this news.

What did Celtic fans make of this tweet?

Nisbet has the experience of playing in the various divisions of the Scottish game and has scored in each of the top four tiers in Scotland. He scored 14 times in the Premiership last season for Hibs, also getting four assists. During the 2019/20 Championship campaign, he found the net 18 times for Dunfermline.

Celtic fans, can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players? First up: who is this?

He’s clearly a proven goalscorer and he could add more goals to the Celtic side. The Hoops could be dealing with the potential exit of Odsonne Edouard and that could leave them with enough money to sign Nisbet. Considering his record of scoring goals, Nisbet might turn out to be a reliable signing for Celtic.
