The Australian is high up on Postecoglou’s shortlist, but the Celtic boss would have to persuade the midfielder to take a wage cut from what he currently earns at Shanghai Port.

Celtic fans, can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players? First up: who is this?

He is a central midfielder by trade, and can also play as an attacking midfielder. Olivier Ntcham could yet leave Celtic and this would leave the Hoops with limited midfield options. Mooy would add depth to that part of the pitch and he’ll also bring experience to the table.

He has also played quite a few times under Postecoglou for Australia, where he assisted quite regularly. So if the midfielder can take a pay cut, this could be a good move for Celtic.
