Football journalist Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on his latest Twitch stream to discuss all things transfer-related.
One name which was discussed was the current Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper, Joe Hart, who has been linked with a potential switch to Celtic this summer.
Do you want to see Joe Hart as Celtic's starting goalkeeper?
Discussing the potential move for the 34-year-old goalkeeper, Romano had the following to say on the matter.
“Tottenham are discussing with Celtic for Joe Hart, as I revealed yesterday. And the deal is really, really advanced, so Joe Hart has huge chances to join Celtic this summer.”
TIF Thoughts on Hart to Celtic…
For Celtic to change their goalkeeper having only signed Vasilis Barkas last summer is undoubtedly a big call, so clearly this is a move they deem necessary to strengthen the squad as they see fit.
Hart arrived at Tottenham with the knowledge he would be used as a backup for the French captain, but featured prominently in the Europa League (via Transfermarkt).
It has now been a few years since Hart was playing consistent first-team football, so Celtic must bear this in mind if they are considering putting him straight into their starting XI.
However, on the whole, we think this could prove a good move for all involved. Celtic will get a goalkeeper with a wealth of experience and Spurs will continue to cut down their wage bill.
