Journalist Dean Jones has recently talked about the future of Wolves star Adama Traore.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Traore in recent weeks and there has also been talk of the Spaniard returning to Barcelona this summer.

Jones appeared on the latest episode of Touchline Talk and he spoke about the situation of the Wolves winger. The journalist stated that Leeds United are very much interested in the player and Nuno Espirito Santo had wanted Crystal Palace to sign him when he was holding talks with the south London club.

Can Wolves afford to let Traore go?

Traore is part of Spain’s squad for Euro 2020 and the winger featured against Slovakia earlier in the tournament.

Jones talked about the Spaniard, stating: “I’m not sure about Traore to Chelsea specifically, but I do think it’s very reasonable to expect that he will leave. Leeds are very interested in signing him and I know that when Nuno was in talks with Crystal Palace, he talked to Crystal Palace about wanting Traore at Crystal Palace and wanted them to go ahead. They were willing to do that if he was going to sign a contract.

“I think Traore himself too will be looking around and thinking, ‘okay, the whole club’s changing, it’s time for me to change as well.’ Obviously, he’s ambitious and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he’s one of the big names that ends up leaving.”

TIF Thoughts on Traore’s future at Wolves…

Traore’s goal contributions witnessed a dip in the 2020/21 campaign, as he scored only twice in the Premier League and got three assists, whereas, in the 2019/20 league campaign, he had directly contributed to 13 goals for the club (as per Transfermarkt).

The 2020/21 season saw the likes of Daniel Podence and Pedro Neto impress for the side and they are clearly options for the wide areas. So if Traore leaves, Wolves may not miss him because of the Portuguese duo at the club.
