Wolves will not budge too much on Ruben Neves’ price tag amid Arsenal interest, journalist Luke Hatfield has told This Is Futbol.

Neves is being heavily linked with a move to the Emirates, with The Sun reporting that the player’s agent Jorge Mendes is currently talking to Arsenal over a potential deal.

However, according to the same report, Neves’ £35m price tag is proving to be a stumbling block for the north London club.

There is still plenty of time for Arsenal to get a deal done, but Hatfield has warned that Wolves will not be rolled over for one of their star assets.

I don’t see them budging too much on that price tag,” the Express & Star reporter said. “35 million has been the amount that’s been kind of quoted everywhere now and Wolves will probably rate him that highly and rightly so. He’s been an important player for them.”

This one looks like it could drag on, but you cannot fault Wolves for holding out for the valuation they have slapped on Neves’ head.

They are undergoing a bit of a rebuild right now following Nuno Espirito Santo’s exit and the money from Neves’ potential sale can obviously be reinvested into the squad.
