Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek could restart his career at Molineux, former Wolves striker Steve Bull has told This Is Futbol.
Following a serious achilles injury, the 25-year-old struggled to break into the Blues’ starting XI, resulting in him having to join west London rivals Fulham on loan for the 2020/21 season.
The England international also missed out on Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad for the Euros, another disappointing setback.
Would Loftus-Cheek be a good signing?
Yes
No
According to The Guardian, he is set to remain with Chelsea for pre-season, where manager Thomas Tuchel will have a good look at him.
However, Bull has urged Loftus-Cheek to join Wolves as he looks to revive his career. On the 6 ft 3 beast, he said:
“He’d probably restart his career again [at Wolves], like lighting a cannon, go and then boom and then take off again and say to Chelsea, ‘look what you’ve lost.’ ”
A permanent transfer to another Premier League side like Wolves this summer does not sound like the worst idea.
Even if Tuchel likes what he sees in pre-season and decides he wants to keep Loftus-Cheek around, is he really going to get regular game time ahead of the likes of Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante and Jorginho?
Of course, another loan move could also be a possibility. But at 25, Loftus-Cheek will surely be looking for some stability in his career now.
