West Ham United insider @ExWHUemployee has been sharing his thoughts on the possibility of the east London club potentially making a move for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham this summer.

This comes after Ex co-hosted a recent edition of The West Ham Way Podcast where he spoke about a number of subjects concerning the Hammers.

Nice easy one to start off with. How much do you think Declan Rice is worth?

On the subject of Abraham, who has been linked with a potential move to the London Stadium this summer, Ex had this to say on the matter.

He said: “Interestingly, Tammy Abraham hasn’t joined Aston Villa, they were very close apparently at one point and he hasn’t joined them, so could that be that he’s holding on to move to West Ham? Quite possibly.

“As I’ve said all along, I think the club are very interested in him, so [it will] be interesting to watch this space.”

Abraham, who is a product of Chelsea’s youth academy, has made 82 appearances for the west London club across all competitions, in which he has managed to score 30 goals and provide 12 assists in the process (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Ex’s comments on Abraham…

As Ex mentioned in the podcast, Abraham has also been linked with a move to Aston Villa this summer, where he had a loan spell during the 2018/19 season.

Should West Ham target Tammy Abraham this summer?

No

Given how the 23-year-old, who is currently valued at £34.2 million, only started 12 Premier League games for Chelsea last season, it’s understandable why the Englishman has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

In our view, with West Ham only having Michail Antonio as their main centre-forward and the fact that Antonio has suffered his fair share of injuries in the past, perhaps signing Abraham this summer to strengthen their attacking force would be a smart move from the club.
