Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has been discussing all things related to the north London club on his YouTube channel ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Toby Alderweireld recently secured his exit from Spurs and it now looks as if another player has their eyes on an exit, as according to Gold, right-back Serge Aurier is intent on leaving the club and his agent is believed to be working on a potential exit.

Aurier joined the north Londoners back in 2017 for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £22.5m and has gone on to make 110 appearances for the club.

However, the arrival of Fabio Paratici has put the right-back’s future at Spurs in doubt, with The Athletic reporting the club are open to offers for him this summer.

Discussing where Aurier’s future lies, Gold had the following to say on the matter.

“Serge Aurier is very much intent on leaving the club, has made that very clear to them. I think his agent’s working on stuff.

“Tottenham, as I understand it, there isn’t a bid in for him right now. But I think his agent is very much trying to sort a move for him.”

TIF Thoughts on Aurier’s Spurs career…

Aurier has had a turbulent time in north London, with his time marred by a number of defensive errors and few highlights.

There have always been question marks over Aurier’s ability to keep a cool head in games, which was evident in games such as the one against Leicester City last season, where he gave away a cheap penalty.

However, he did show signs of promise with an excellent display at Old Trafford last term, in which he provided a goal and an assist (via Transfermarkt).

It appears Aurier is no longer in Tottenham’s plans for the upcoming season, so we think it will be a good result for Paratici and Tottenham if they are able to get some form of return for the Ivorian before the end of the window.
