Tottenham-focused Twitter account The Spurs Express picked up on this, and it gathered a number of responses from Spurs fans who weren’t shy when sharing what they thought about the claim.
“Nuno is so doomed”
“Must be kidding surely, we need someone new there”
“Dreadful player and one we should be moving on. Unbelievable how many on this thread rate him”
“Cheers for ruining my day”
“Really wish he would go…”
Judging by the reaction, these Spurs fans aren’t happy with the news that the club is likely to keep Davies this summer.
As we know from his time at Wolves, Nuno Espirito Santo is a fan of a three-at-the-back system and could look to play that at Spurs. With Sergio Reguilon expected to remain Spurs’ first-choice left-back, Nuno may try Davies at left centre-back – a position he is familiar with having played there a number of times for Wales.
Davies featured 20 times for Spurs in the Premier League last season, starting 14 times. The Welsh international also had 10 starts to his name in the Europa League, suggesting that the 28-year-old is still a valuable member of the squad and could continue to be under the new manager.
