Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to claims from journalist Alasdair Gold that Welsh international Joe Rodon is expected to get more game time under new Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Gold’s article for Football.london suggests the defender may even return back to training early to make an impression on the new Portuguese manager.

This was picked up by Tottenham-focused Twitter account The Spurs Express, which received many responses from fans who weren’t shy in showing their feelings on Gold’s claim.

Judging by the responses to the tweet, it’s clear that many Spurs fans would be happy to see an increase in Rodon’s game time.

The 23-year-old signed for Spurs in October, joining the club from Championship side Swansea City for a fee of £11million.

Rodon played 14 games for Spurs during his first season in north London, with 12 appearances coming in the league and two coming during the FA Cup.

According to Gold, Rodon is expected to return back to Spurs early due to the fact he played less than a lot of his teammates and did not feel as ‘physically drained’ after a relentless campaign.

The 6ft 4in centre-back is only 23 and after producing a dazzling performance against Italy in the European Championships, there could be sides keeping their eyes on the Wales international and his situation at Spurs.
