Tottenham Hotspur correspondent for Football.london, Alasdair Gold, has been speaking on his latest YouTube video about all things related to the Lilywhites.

The journalist discussed various Tottenham transfer rumours amid this summer’s window, with Houssem Aouar’s name being discussed.

Should Spurs try to sign Aouar?

Spurs have been linked with the French this summer, with some reports even suggesting the side could be prepared to swap Tanguy Ndombele for the Lyon midfielder.

Arsenal have also been heavily linked with Aouar, however, according to reports in , Liverpool is the most likely destination for the 23-year-old.

“I’m told that there’s interest there. He’s a player that they’ve watched for a while, but no serious kind of bid has gone in for him.

“I saw one report saying that Tanguy Ndombele was going back there as part of the deal – I’m told it’s absolutely not an option. I’m told that a move for him is unlikely just purely because of the finance involved.”

TIF Thoughts on Aouar to Spurs…

This would certainly be an impressive signing for the north London side if Spurs were able to get it over the line, with the Frenchman, who is valued at £37.8 million (as per Transfermarkt), racking up 10 goal involvements in last season’s Ligue 1.

However, we do not think this should be their priority this summer. Youngster has returned from his impressive loan spell at Norwich City and we expect him to see more first-team football at Spurs this season.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg proved a brilliant servant for Spurs over the course of the 2020/21 season, in which he played every single minute in the Premier League (via Transfermarkt).

Nuno Espirito Santo also has Harry Winks, Ndombele and Moussa Sissoko as options in midfield, which makes us think their money could probably be better spent addressing their wish for two new centre-backs.
