On his latest YouTube video, Alasdair Gold has been speaking about potential transfer moves this summer at Tottenham Hotspur.

One player that Gold discussed was Ryan Sessegnon after the Englishman returned to Spurs from his loan with Bundesliga club Hoffenheim.

The 21-year-old spent the 2020/21 campaign out on loan in Germany where he featured 23 times in the Bundesliga and found the back of the net twice in those games (via Transfermarkt).

However, since signing for Spurs in 2019, Sessegnon has only featured for the Lilywhites on 12 occasions across all competitions.

Discussing the youngster’s future at Spurs under the new head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, Gold had the following to say on the matter.

I know for a fact that Espirito Santo tried to sign Sessegnon a couple of times at Wolves. He’s very much a player he likes, so he will get chances.”

TIF Thoughts on Sessegnon’s future…

The £16.2m-rated ace arrived in north London after Spurs showed long-lasting interest in the youngster throughout his career with Fulham both in the Premier League and Championship.

After struggling to earn much game time with the Lilywhites in his first season, Spurs will be hoping the experience out on loan in Germany will have done him the world of good.

Nuno Espirito Santo is known for playing with wing-backs, so it will be interesting to see if Sessegnon can secure a consistent spot in the Spurs team.
