Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has been speaking on his latest YouTube video to discuss all things related to the north London club.

The main topic of discussion was transfers amid the summer market and Gold had a promising claim to make on the potential activity happening at Spurs in the coming week.

Could Cristian Romero transform the Spurs defence?

Spurs made their first signing of the summer last week in the shape of after he signed for the Lilywhites from Atalanta on a loan deal with the option to buy.

The N17 club have been linked with Atalanta’s Cristian Romero as Spurs reportedly look to overhaul their defence this summer with the addition of two centre-backs.

Having opened their account in this summer’s window, Gold predicted it to be a busy week ahead for the north London club in the market.

Speaking prior to the arrival of Bryan Gil on Monday, Gold said: “I thought I’d get this video in specifically today [Sunday] because I understand that it’s going to be a pretty busy week ahead.

“I think I said this in the last video or something I’ve written, but I know we’ve had a few various things happen in recent days, but I was told a few days back that this coming week was going to be the one where we’re going to have a fair bit happening.”

TIF Thoughts on Spurs’ summer spending…

It seems Gold has already been proven right following Gil’s arrival from Sevilla, which saw Erik Lamela go the other way, but the journalist’s claim suggests there is potentially more to follow in the coming days.

Although a second-choice goalkeeper may not have been the number one priority for a lot of Tottenham fans this summer, the Gollini transfer seems to be a well-structured deal that sets Spurs up nicely for if Hugo Lloris leaves next summer.

An overhaul at centre-back seems to be the main priority this summer, with Cristian Romero heavily linked with potentially joining the Lilywhites this summer.

It looks like Spurs will see Toby Alderweireld depart with a move to Qatar on the cards. With his potential departure, we think Spurs could do with adding some experience to that defence, with Eric Dier potentially left as their most experienced centre-back.
