Should Spurs pursue Damsgaard this summer?
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have also been linked to a potential summer swoop for the Danish winger Mikkel Damsgaard.
Reports from Italy have even suggested Spurs are expected to table a bid worth in the region of €25m (£21.5m) for the 21-year-old.
Discussing the north London club’s stance on Damsgaard, Gold had the following to say.
“Mikkel Damsgaard, who’s the Sampdoria [and] Denmark midfielder – I’m told that he’s not a player they’re currently looking to make a bid for.
“I’d imagine maybe with Gil coming, he’s a similar kind of versatile player who can play across that attacking midfield area. But yeah, I’m told that’s not a goer right now.
“A very talented player, though, don’t get me wrong, and it could change in the future.”
TIF Thoughts on Damsgaard to Spurs…
The Danish forward showed great promise during this summer’s European Championship, which was highlighted by his stunning free-kick against England in the semi-final.
With the likes of Heung-min Son, Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura also to choose from, we think Spurs could be better off investing the potential funds into improving their defence.
