Paul Stewart reckons that Tottenham have bigger priorities than bringing in another goalkeeper.

First-choice and club captain Hugo Lloris has entered the final 12 months of his deal, which has led to reports that he could return to France and reunite with ex-Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino at PSG.

Should Tottenham make Laporte a priority?

Those claims have seen plenty of keepers linked to take Lloris’ number one shirt in north London.

Leeds’ Illan Meslier and West Brom stopper Sam Johnstone has both been mentioned, whilst Aaron Ramsdale, who’s currently alongside Johnstone in the England squad, has also been touted as a long-term replacement to the Frenchman.

But with Lloris likely to remain at Tottenham until at least the end of his current contract and Joe Hart currently his back-up, it’s unlikely that Nuno Espirito Santo will sign another shotstopper.

When asked whether Ramsdale, who’s made 75 appearances in the Premier League, would come to Tottenham, Stewart exclusively told This is Futbol:

“Would he want to come to Spurs and sit around on the bench, maybe playing in the Carabao Cup, because that’s what they do with second goalkeepers.

“When I consider the situation, I don’t consider the goalkeeper being an issue at the moment.”
