Graham Roberts has waxed lyrical over Wolves’ Nelson Semedo and compared him to ex-Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker.

Spurs are desperate to bring in another right-back, with Serge Aurier expressing his desire to return to PSG this summer, although the club will be hoping to Nuno Espirito Santo’s arrival will revive Matt Doherty.

Should Tottenham make Laporte a priority?

Prior to signing the Republic of Ireland international, Tottenham were linked with Semedo as part of a deal that could have seen Tanguy Ndombele join Barcelona.

However, the 27-year-old ended up replacing Molineux and was involved in all but two of Wolves’ Premier League games following his arrival from the Nou Camp – scoring once and assisting once.

Prior to Wolves, Semedo turned out over 100 times for Barcelona, making the right-back spot his own during his three seasons in Spain, and started three of Portugal’s four matches at Euro 2020.

Starting with a current Tottenham star. How many PL goals has Harry Kane scored for Spurs?

Roberts exclusively told This is Futbol:

“I like him, he’s a good right-back and a good defender, quick. Semedo is totally different to Doherty – he’s quick, he can get forward, he can cross a ball and he can also defend.

“He reminds me of Kyle Walker, that sort of player, who can get up and down the pitch, and coming to a massive club like Tottenham, I think he would enjoy it.”

Tottenham have already been linked with Max Aarons and Tariq Lamptey, with those offering great potential and several years of service, but in terms of ready-made right-backs, there’s surely few better in Spurs’ price range than Semedo.
