Newcastle's all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Alan Shearer but how many goals did he score for the club?

The article claims that Newcastle United “are the new frontrunners” in the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers this summer ahead of Scottish club Celtic.

This post then quickly grabbed the attention of a number of Toon supporters who were not shy in sharing their thoughts and feelings on this latest claim.

So, what did these Newcastle fans have to say in response to this latest transfer claim linking the club with a move for Carter-Vickers?

This would be a great signing. #NUFC

“Yes please”

@BustaJ23

“Going to be a top player would be a great signing I’m thinking”

@youngroby19

“Living the dream we are”

@grantdesousa

“Would be cool to have another Yank on the team, says this Yank”

@lackerddos

“I he is good for Graeme Jones, he is good for me. Bring him in”

@dan2882

Looking at the replies to this post, it seems as though these Newcastle fans would be more than happy to see their club add Carter-Vickers to the squad this summer.

Would you like to see Newcastle sign Carter-Vickers this summer?

Yes

No

No

In our view, with only Crystal Palace, Southampton, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United managing to concede more goals than Newcastle in the Premier League last season, perhaps adding a new defender like Carter-Vickers is a smart move from the Tyneside club in an effort to strengthen their backline ahead of the new campaign.
